Thursday rainstorm.

All morning the skies threatened rain. I opened the windows to let the smell in, checked on the plants and left the slide door open to the breeze. Around noon, the skies opened up. The plants drank, puddles puddled on the sidewalk, rainwater rivers rushed fallen buds toward storm drains. Then not much later, the skies opened up again with sunshine long enough for me to get two large slices of pizza and a much needed break from work.
I tried to catch the raindrops with my camera, but I couldn't catch the bests part of the rainstorm—the smells, the sounds, the cooling, the warm exhaling of the ground.
